Privacy Policy for app (branded as "LensMate")
Welcome to app ("app", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you download, install, register for, access, or use our mobile utility application branded as LensMate on iOS, and related services. By using the app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We are committed to minimizing the personal information we collect. The app is designed so most core functionality (including AI-powered composition guidance) runs on-device. The types of information we may collect include:
Photos & Media
- Images and photos you create with the in-app camera or import from your device photo library when you grant permission via the iOS PhotosUI interface.
- Basic image metadata (e.g., file type, creation timestamp) necessary to display and edit images.
- Any images or media that you explicitly choose to share with us (for support or feedback).
Device Sensors & Technical Data (on-device processing)
- Motion and orientation sensor data (accelerometer, gyroscope, device orientation) used in real time to compute framing and camera movement guidance.
- Camera frames captured for real-time composition guidance when you use the in-app camera.
Purchase & Subscription Data
- Basic purchase information and transaction receipts provided by Apple’s App Store (e.g., subscription status) to enable and verify your subscription.
- We do not collect your payment card details — Apple processes payments and stores payment information for App Store purchases.
Support & Communications
- Information you provide when contacting us (for example, email address, support messages, and any attachments such as screenshots that you choose to send).
Minimal Logs (if applicable)
- Non-identifying technical logs limited to crash reports and error diagnostics (if you opt in or if they are automatically provided by iOS) to help us troubleshoot and improve the app. We do not use these for advertising.
What we do NOT collect or sell:
- We do not collect or sell personal contact lists, precise location data, biometric templates, or other unrelated personal data unless you explicitly provide such data as part of an image or support request.
- We do not sell personal information.
Third-party frameworks we use:
- Vision, AVFoundation, CoreMotion, PhotosUI — these Apple frameworks are used to provide camera, computer vision, and motion-sensing functionality. In the normal course, these frameworks operate on-device.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to provide, operate, and improve the app and its features:
Real-time Composition Guidance
- To analyze camera frames and motion sensor data (typically on-device) to detect human subjects and faces and to produce actionable composition and framing suggestions.
Photo Editing & Storage
- To enable import, display, edit (zoom/pan), and temporary cache of images on your device for the interactive editing experience.
Subscription Management
- To verify subscription status and enable access to premium features such as unlimited guided photos. Verification is done using Apple-provided receipt data.
Support & Communication
- To respond to your inquiries, process requests (including deletion requests), and provide customer support.
Diagnostics & Improvement
- To diagnose and fix bugs and improve app performance (limited crash/diagnostic logs).
We do not use your images or sensor data to build user profiles for advertising.
3. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:
Apple and App Store
- Apple (App Store) processes payment and subscription information. Apple’s privacy practices apply to payment processing and account management.
On-Device Frameworks
- Vision, AVFoundation, CoreMotion, and PhotosUI are Apple-provided frameworks. These frameworks typically process data locally on your device; we do not transmit data to these frameworks as “third-party recipients” beyond normal on-device calls.
Service Providers and Processors
- If we engage third-party service providers (for example, for app hosting, technical support, or legal compliance), we will limit access to what is necessary and require providers to keep the information confidential. Currently, the app’s main processing is on-device; we do not routinely transmit photos or sensor streams to external servers.
Legal Requirements
- We may disclose information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes (e.g., subpoenas), or government requests, to protect the safety, rights, property, or security of the company or others, or to enforce our Terms of Service.
Aggregated & De-identified Data
- We may create aggregated, de-identified data (which does not identify you) for internal analytics and to improve the app. De-identified data may be shared with partners.
If we ever change practices to transmit or store images or sensor data off-device, we will update this policy and clearly explain what data is transmitted, for what purpose, where it’s stored, and how you can opt in or opt out.
4. Data Retention
On-Device Data
- Photos, edits, and caches remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. The app will not retain images centrally unless you explicitly send them to us (for support) or choose any in-app feature that uploads to a server (none currently exist).
Subscription & Transaction Records
- We may retain necessary purchase and subscription verification data (such as receipt identifiers) for as long as needed to provide the service and for compliance with legal and tax obligations.
Support Correspondence
- We retain support emails and related information as long as necessary to resolve your request or as required by law (typically for a limited period, e.g., up to 2 years), subject to applicable retention requirements.
Deletion Requests
- If you request deletion of any personal data we hold, we will comply unless retention is required by law. See “Your Rights” for how to request deletion.
Retention periods depend on the nature of the data and legal obligations. If you want to delete data that we control, contact us (see Contact Us below).
5. Security Measures
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information:
- On-device processing where possible to minimize transmission of sensitive data.
- TLS/HTTPS for any network transmissions.
- Encryption of data in transit and when stored on our servers (if any).
- Access controls, data minimization, and internal policies limiting access to authorized personnel only.
- Regular software updates and security reviews.
However, no system can be 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data. If we learn of a security breach affecting your data, we will follow applicable legal obligations to notify you and regulators as required.
6. Children's Privacy
- The app is not designed for children and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by local law).
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the applicable minimum age. If you learn that your child under the applicable minimum age has provided us with personal data, please contact us at app@forvibe.app. Upon verification, we will delete such data promptly.
7. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA compliant)
We strive to honor privacy rights. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights.
For European (GDPR) residents:
- Access: Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal restrictions.
- Restriction: Request restriction of processing in certain circumstances.
- Data Portability: Request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
- Object: Object to certain processing, including profiling and automated decision-making, where applicable.
- Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw consent at any time (withdrawal does not affect processing performed prior to withdrawal).
For California residents (CCPA/CPRA):
- Right to Know: Request disclosure of personal information categories collected, sources, business purposes, and third-party disclosures.
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of personal information we hold about you subject to exceptions.

Verification and protection of privacy:
- To protect your privacy and security, we may require verification of identity before processing certain requests. We will only use the information provided to verify and fulfill the request.
Complaints:
- If you are in the EU, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. If you are in California, you may contact the California Attorney General’s office.
8. AI / Automated Processing Disclosure
The app uses automated processing (on-device computer vision and model-based guidance) to analyze camera frames and motion sensor input and to generate composition recommendations (for portrait, full-frame, and group photo modes).
Purpose and Logic
- The app’s models detect faces and human subjects, estimate framing, compute a framing score and provide real-time textual and visual guidance (e.g., move left/right, tilt up/down, step back) to improve composition.
- Processing is primarily performed on-device using Apple frameworks (Vision and AVFoundation). No automated decision from the app has legal or similarly significant effects on users.
Impact and User Controls
- The automated guidance is advisory—users decide whether to follow recommendations.
- You may opt out of using the in-app camera guidance by using your device camera or by not granting camera or motion permissions. To fully disable automated processing, deny camera and motion sensor permissions in iOS settings for the app.
Rights Regarding Automated Decisions
- You may request meaningful information about the logic involved and challenge the outcome by contacting us at app@forvibe.app.
9. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
Freemium Model
- The app operates on a freemium model: free users receive a daily quota of guided photos; subscribing unlocks unlimited access.
Subscriptions & Auto-Renewal
- Subscriptions are auto-renewing and billed through the Apple App Store using your Apple ID and payment method. Duration, pricing, free trial terms (if any), and the renewal schedule are shown in the App Store at the time of purchase.
- Auto-renewal can be managed or turned off in your Apple ID account settings. To cancel a subscription, go to your App Store subscription settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds are handled by Apple. Contact Apple Support for refund requests.
What We Receive
- We receive confirmation of your subscription status from Apple (a transaction receipt) so we can enable premium features. We do not receive your payment card details.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or the app’s features. When we make material changes, we will:
- Post the updated policy in the app and on our website: https://app.forvibe.app
- Update the "Last Updated" and "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
- Where required by law, provide additional notice (for example, email notification if you have provided an email address).
Your continued use of the app after the Effective Date of any changes indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
